I grew up in a talented artistic Family. Both music and creation were the foundation of our family soul. My father would Sit me down at the workbench and encourage me to draw or make whatever it was I was trying to explain to him. I believe it was a way to keep me busy and to keep me from spending hours trying to articulate the words I was trying to say to my father. I was told when I was about 3 I was trying to use very sharp wood chisels and cut every finger I had but continued to work through the pain and finish my art. I am a 3rd generation Woodcraftsman. My father has works displayed in the cable car museum in SF and my whole life efforts have been artistically involved from Music to Electronics. I studied Music In college and was a double major in performing Arts and Electronics, But I never completed it as the rigors of Life, work, and raising a family would be the priority.
I Was self-taught art and woodcraft through my father and uncle. Many nights of my youth sitting around a fireplace in the shop widdling wood and listened to stories of my father and uncle's mischief. What great memories.
My father and I never played catch, Our time was spent creating and learning and inventing! No regrets as I learned how to express myself through art and how to envision in my head exactly what I wanted to create before I ever drew it down on paper. Plans were for people that worked with me who lacked the ability to mentally see the vision but also a good tool to make sure we all understood the project.
My father was my Best friend and he was wonderful!
I started working with Acrylic Epoxy resin in my teens of the 1980s with 3D versions of my own Jackson Polic splattered paint on recycled burnt foam and plastic. Later I discovered I could paint with oil on top of layers of acrylic to create a "cat's eye" marble effect on canvas, I've yet to see another artist do this, but they must exist!
My father would use clear epoxy Resin to coat layers of wood in the 70s to make bar tables and clocks I'm sure everyone remembers those glossy walnut burrow clocks but resin has made a huge comback in the wood river Tables and Live edge slabs that are popular now and still used on bartops as well... I currently paint Acrylic resin on glass and wood to create a stained glass look. I also have a full wood shop where I Mill slabs of wood into furniture and custom tables and desks. I am also a Jazz and Blues Musician and can occasionally be seen playing my horn on stage or singing in a gospel choir.
I find Art oddly the center of everything I do...
I use many different mediums, such as clay, acrylic resin, Oils, and Wood. I have a hard time limiting myself to just one medium. I go where ever the art takes me. But I do LOVE wood and find myself using wood in almost every project. I also like to widdle wood and make jewelry and boxes, and furniture and just love the natural esthetics

But I do LOVE wood and find myself using wood in almost every project. I also like to widdle wood and make jewelry and boxes, and furniture and just love the natural esthetics and complexities of natural materials like wood. I love living natural things and use the vibrance of Light and color found in all things. My other Medium is Photography. I love to capture the beauty of nature, landscapes, and flowers as well as animals and Bugs. I also have taken many Photos of performing musicians and have been invited to photograph many famous artists from local touring musicians to BB KING. I have a large following through my music and am invited to concerts by the touring agent or record label. I've interviewed Eric Clapton and John Mayall as well as Candy Cane and Joe Bonamassa and many others.
While you are here, I should also mention I LOVE plants! I grow my own cultivated Giant Zinnia flower that I've been working on for about 30 years. I also grow Succulents and make living artistic arrangements that I sell throughout the year. I moved up into the foothills to start a small farm and grow plants to use in my arrangements. I especially make these living arrangements for holiday crafts events.
I enjoy Nature sun sets flowers and Light. I love primary colors as well as pastels. You will find lots of Vibrant colors in my art and dark shades to create shadows and definition. Sometimes you will see sparkles of Micca and Glass in my works or a shimmer of metal shavings.
I'm inspired by love and laughter and a twinkle in the eye. eve

I'm inspired by love and laughter and a twinkle in the eye. every piece has a story waiting to be revealed. I struggle like all artists to know when I'm finished. sometimes I have to set it aside and come back to it maybe years later. I also struggle with perfection! and even though I struggle I also feel as though my work is not good enough to be called art.
